Behind the Scenes | Resort SS19

Our latest Resort collection encapsulates the spirit of adventure, with timeless pieces designed to be worn and loved year after year. With a focus on craftsmanship and silhouette, this season features brand new designs crafted in beautiful textured swimwear fabric.

We’re giving you exclusive behind the scenes access to our photo shoot, showing you everything from how to achieve the perfect tousled beach waves, to the beautiful location house we shot in.

Where did the photo shoot take place?

This season, we shot in two locations in beautiful Camber Sands in East Sussex. We shot our Nautical Stripe collection in a stunning beach hut, matching the beautiful white washed walls to our elegant white and navy stripe. For Our Tidal Wave collection, we moved onto the beach which has the most beautiful sand dunes.

How did you choose the location?

This collection was inspired by holidays with my family, so it seemed only fitting that we shot in the UK. Camber Sands is such a beautiful beach with rolling sand dunes that fitted perfectly with the mood of the collection.

What inspired the Hair and Makeup look this season?

We always go for a natural look when styling our photo shoots as we want the natural beauty of our models to really shine through. Lois (model) has such beautiful, delicate features that we choose to use very little makeup for a natural ‘just got back from the beach’ look. For hair, we choose big, messy beach waves and a simple top knot to keep the mood relaxed.

How did you create the perfect beach wave?

Our makeup artist Wendy (the grown up edit) first used heated tongs to add loose waves which were set with a light hold hairspray and broken up and tousled to give an imperfect, natural look. A salt spray was used to create texture and volume. The day of the shoot was incredibly windy down on the beach and this added an even more tousled look!

What are your favourite images from the shoot?

It’s so hard to choose!  I love the beach shots of our Textured Navy collection with the muted tones of the sand, sky and sea. I think one of my favourite pieces this season is the front-fastening bikini. It's such a simple and elegant piece that still has unexpected, luxury detailing like the silver look ring detail at the back.
