Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are due to be married on the 19th May and we could not be more excited! There's no better time to gather a few of your nearest and dearest to hold a spectacular summer garden party in celebration of the historic event. The Royal wedding will be played on TV so this is the perfect reason to hold your own screening. Celebrate the big day with  plenty of prosecco or some quintessentially British cocktails and treat your guests to some delicious picnic inspired treats.  To help you plan the perfect celebration we've gathered a few of our favourite recipes and some tips and ideas for decorating your garden for a party fit for royalty.

What to Wear

A simple silk camisole top is both elegant and stylish, adding a sophisticated edge to a simple and comfortable outfit. For a summer garden party, white is a luxurious choice. Try pairing your silk camisole with a beautiful summer skirt to dress it up, or wear with your favourite pair of jeans for a laid back look. You can shop our silk camisoles here.

What to Drink

Prosecco or pimms is the obvious choice but if you're feeling creative, why not try mixing up a few cocktails? This delicious celebratory cocktail features two quintessentially British ingredients - gin and earl grey tea. To make this beautifully summery cocktail you will need:

  • 1 ¼ oz. Earl Grey Syrup -  (you can make your own syrup by steeping 2 -3 teabags in hot water and then mixing one part sugar with one part tea and letting it reduce over heat)
  • 1 ½ oz. Gin
  • ¾ oz. fresh squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1 Egg White
  • Champagne

To make the cocktail, add some ice to a cocktail shaker and then add all the ingredients apart from the champagne. Shake and strain into martini or coupe glasses then top with the champagne.

What to Eat

Fuss free finger food is perfect if you're hosting a garden party, think simple but delicious food that can be made ahead of time and spread out on a table for your guests to enjoy. We love serving up big portions of salads and wooden boards filled with delicious cheeses and meat. Finish everything off with a beautiful cake or homemade scones with lashings of jam and clotted cream! If you don't have outside tables or chairs, spread out picnic blankets and scatter mismatched cushions to create a comfortable picnic style party.
